Location: It can be hybrid. I’ll want them to come in initially 2-3 days a week for training, then after a few weeks of that, it will be mostly remote (maybe once a month in office, max). HOWEVER, it’s important to note that if they ever get a full time offer to convert from contractor to Ally employee, they would need to go Hybrid 3x/week at that point. Interview process consists of 2 steps: 1) I will personally have an initial phone screen with my top candidates—I call it a “vibe check” to make sure I can communicate with them and that they can articulate some of the basic qualifications they have for the job and talk about what it is they’re looking for in a role. Usually only 30 minutes for this. 2) Anyone who passes the phone screen will move on to a more involved panel interview with some of the people they’ll be supporting and interacting with on the team—I usually set aside 90 minutes for this but rarely use the full time. Top 3 Soft Skills: 1. Communication skills (written and verbal) 2. Problem Solving 3. Attention to Detail Top 3 Hard Skills: 1. Project Management (ability to create and manage project plans, particularly for release automation and modernization initiatives) 2. Agile and CI/CD Principles 3. Jira and Confluence (proficiency in using Jira for tracking work and Confluence for maintaining documentation
