This is for a day position working 8:00 am ET to 5:00 pm ET

Description:
The VCS Team is a tier 3 level support group for a large IT infrastructure. This position is in 24 x 7x 365 environments, working days, some nights and weekends for production changes. There is also an on-call rotation.
Must excel in troubleshooting server performance issues, with java-based applications
Patching/troubleshooting systems in a closed environment.
Solaris 11.4 to include OS level patching troubleshooting and in depth understanding of Solaris 11.4 OS.
Ability to work with shell and perl scripts.
Familiarity LDOMS configuration.
Familiarity ZFS/VDEVS.
Ability to work with shell and perl scripts.
Daily Systems Administration.
cron setup.
SAN connectivity.
routing over multiple interfaces.
sshd configuration.
RHEL7/RHEL8 experience.
VMWare/VCenter for RHEL VM management.
Familiarity with:
Remedy for incident management.
Tripwire IDS.
BladeLogic Server Management.
Process-driven environment - Change Management.
Ansible.
Sendmail.
Oncall rotation.
The successful candidate would expect to assist in annual auditing, incident management/closure, and the ability to plan and execute changes using the documented process. When issues occur, you can expect to be involved in troubleshooting performance, network connectivity, port availability, process detection, etc. during a live conference call with other team members.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
At least 10 years of prior VCS/Solaris experience, RHEL7/8, Remedy
Proficient with MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint Critical thinking skills Professional communication skills both written and verbal
