The Business Systems Support Analyst will work collaboratively with staff across the agency to conduct research, gather data, define business and functional requirements, and help with data entry and implementation of projects for the Department of Revenue. This position will also play a key role in the partnership between business technical teams. The incumbent’s leadership, expertise and work products will establish and operate processes that ensure issues are identified, tracked, diagnosed and resolved. This individual will work to ensure that business needs and plans are successfully integrated with project delivery. The successful candidate will be positive, enthusiastic and team oriented with a passion for identifying, designing, testing, and implementing critical functionality and processes, along with proactive quality assurance. The successful BA will have a strong desire to support the Department of Revenue mission, vision, and Pyramid of Excellence to drive high-quality service delivery and continuous improvement across the agency.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
The essential functions of this role are as follows:
- Assists in the development of technical standards and policies to meet the customers, peers, and organization;
- Formulates and defines system scopes and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with a basic understanding of user needs and business systems and industry requirements:
- Able to collect data, analyze it, and develop sound reporting to track, recommend and forecast enhancements to the system:
- Creates process change through the integration of new processes with existing ones and communication of changes to impacted Business Systems teams;
- Establishes and maintains strategic partnerships with assigned customers in order to help them meet their business and technical needs;
- Participates in the development of strategic plans based on customer needs;
- Analyzes business and user needs, document requirements and devises new technical business system solutions, or revises existing system logic difficulties as necessary;
- Facilitates the delivery of technical business solutions and products to customers;
- Manages the expectations of customers, peers, vendors, and management; Establishes contracts for the procurement of technical business solutions;
Preferred Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field or equivalent experience preferred
- Minimum of two years professional experience in a Business Analyst role preferred
- Proficiency in meeting leadership and facilitation demonstrated by creating a fun, safe, collaborative and productive work environment
- Demonstrated capacity to analyze, understand and capture business data and act on findings
- Creative, disciplined and thoughtful thinker with a demonstrated ability to adjust work plans to determine the appropriate strategy and approach to success
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and build credibility with business and IT leaders and varying levels of the organization
- Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
- Ability to accurately and concisely present proposals and solutions to a wide audience Proficient in the use of MS Office suite of products (Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Project, Word)
